Films: Misery (1990)
Alias: None
Type: Natural
Location: Haunted Home
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: Especially in this pop culture environment, fandoms can be rather volatile and crazy, even around their idols. Especially around their idols. But at least they have the internet to vent. People like Anne Wilkes? Not so much.
History: A secretive serial killer and sociopath, Anne Wilkes lived in seclusion, fostering a particular fondness for the "Misery" book series by author Paul Sheldon. And as luck would have it, Paul ends up not too far away from her, his legs broken. At first, Anne kindly offers to nurse him back to health. But then she realizes that the rather disillusioned Paul killed Misery in the latest book, and things quickly spiral downhill from there.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: Eventually, Paul decides to burn (only a part of) the book he's been forced to write in front of Anne, distracting her so that he may gain the upper hand. It all ends with Paul caving her skull in with a pig statue ironically named Misery. Also ironic, that book ends up as one of Paul's best works.
Powers/Abilities: None.
Weakness: Anything conventional.
Scariness Factor: 4-Anne is every content creator's worst nightmare. A person fanatically attached to your work, and more than willing to torture and destroy you if they don't get their way. And the worst part? There are plenty of people in real life just like her.
Trivia: -Anne was played by then-unknown actress Kathy Bates, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress with that role.
-This story, originally a Stephen King novel, was soon adapted into a play several times, the most recent being in 2015.
